We’ve been to the Maldives 3 times - Where to go and where not to go with a toddler

Finohlu - Toddler-friendly Rating 5*

We loved this island and especially for Mila. They have an extensive kids club which is accessible for kids from all ages. As Mila is under 4 she can’t be left there without our supervision unless you request the additional baby-sitting service. There are multiple sensory rooms and activities daily including pizza making and art classes. Plus a kids pool, slides and play area.

In addition to that, each night the resort has entertainment for all the family, dancing and musical shows which the kids absolutely love to watch in a variety of locations around the resort including their notorious ‘white party’ over on the sandbank every Thursday.

Paradise Island - Toddler-friendly Rating 5*

This Villa hotel island is very geared towards family and kids. With one of the best and biggest kids club, play area and outdoor kids pool Mila loved coming here. The team are super friendly and baby sitting service is available upon request. They also have lots of other activities including shark and sting ray feeding which the kids can go and watch and kid friendly main pools too.

Fushifaru - Toddler-friendly Rating 4*

The island has its own kids club and outdoor area. It also holds multiple different activities through the day for the kids including coconut painting and movie nights. You can also have a family movie night under the stars which we did and watched Moana. They have a games complex in the main bar with lots of board games and snooker / pool tables. There are swings to play on and a fun afternoon chill out area with bean bags to watch the sunset together and have a kids mocktail over by the water villas.

Raffles - Toddler-friendly Rating 3*

The island has its own kids club which has one indoor room with lots of toys and an outdoor play area and trampoline which was a huge ht with Mila :) they put on activities for the kids day including treasure hunts and games to get involved in. They also offer a babysitting service upon request.

Sun Island - Toddler-friendly Rating 3*

Another of the Villa hotels, to get around this island you can hire bikes complete with kids seat which Mila loved. They have lots of activities, basketball courts, games rooms, and a play area although no kids club was available when we were there due to renovations it still is a very family friendly resort.

Reethi Beach - Toddler-friendly Rating 2*

This island had no kids club however it still is an island that I would take kids too because of the relaxed atmosphere and encourage barefoot play attitude. They have a small pool which is kid friendly and lots of open beach space to play.
